Vaughan® Rotamix® Process Mixing Systems
Rotamix Systems Offer:- Process mixing for wastewater and industrial applications including Anaerobic Digesters, Storage Tanks, Etc.
- Vaughan Chopper Pump to enhance volatile solids destruction while ensuring reliable operation of the system.
- Dual rotational mixing to provide even distribution of solids throughout the tank.
Vaughan’s Rotamix® system is today’s most cost effective means of mechanical hydraulic mixing, consisting of an engineered arrangement of floor mounted nozzles fed by a Vaughan® chopper pump. Using custom engineering software, each application is analyzed and sized by Vaughan in order to achieve the desired mixing effect. The Rotamix system may be applied in circular, rectangular, oval tanks and basins and other unique process configurations such as egg-shaped digesters, CSO tunnels and pump stations.
The Concept
The Rotamix system incorporates several basic principles of physics and hydraulics, including uniform field of flow, vertical field of flow, induced flow and surface contact. Combined together, this unique mixing system optimizes solids contact due to the homogenous state.
Dual-Zone Mixing
- Uniform field creates velocity at outside perimeter
- Vortical field creates velocity at center
- Uniform & Vortical fields create "Dual-Zone Mixing"
- Higher velocities induce entrained fluid
- Reduced solids size from Chopper Pump enhances solids contact
- Increased VSR results in increased gas production
- Vaughan reliability & over 50 years expertise as a solids handling specialist
- Process expertise in understanding each application
- Engineering support using state of the art CFD software
- Over 600 systems installed since 2000
- Process testing successes
- Chopper Pump provides reliable operation
- Dual nozzles provide multiple discharge points, reducing piping costs while evenly distributing sludges
- Actual Sludge rheologies are used to produce the most accurate analysis and design
Vaughan® Custom Rotamix® F.O.G. Systems
F.O.G. (Fats, Oils & Grease)Systems By Rotamix Enhanced Digestion SystemsCustom Rotamix F.O.G. Systems:
- Process blending of organic materials with municipal sludge to enhance the reduction of solids.
- Use organics from fats, oils, and greases as well as food waste to create energy.
- Reduce organic waste in landfills by establishing local contracts with restaurants and public recycling programs.
Vaughan® Hopper Chopper Systems
Vaughan’s Hopper Chopper system creates a tomato slurry and pumps directly to the hotbreaks, by using a specially design auger to feed the chopper pump. Installation of the Hopper Chopper replaces the need for a separate chopper, transfer pump, and in some cases, an additional conveyor. The Hopper Chopper system transfers product at up to 100 tons/hour
Vaughan Horizontal End Suction Chopper Pumps can also be used to chop and recirculate whole tomatoes from the bottom of the Hotbreak to the cooker vessel above the coils. Once the product has reached the desired consistency, the slurry is pumped to the finishers. All materials of construction for components contacting the product are 316 stainless steel and all lubricating fluids are food grade oil.
